The Dallas Shooting -- A message to us

Friends,

    It defies logic.
          It tears at the heart, mind, and soul.
              It turns balanced thinking and beliefs upside down; inside out.

    Violence comes closer -- approximately 3 hours from where we live.

    The words from the movie "Top Gun," is now a reality:  You can run but you cannot hide."

     Therefore,
                        be vigilant;
                                take care of each other;
                                     report anything that appears suspicious; out of the norm;
                                         take no chances.

     We have a wonderful Village; it will take all of us to keep it safe, healthy, and strong.

           We lived through turbulent times before, walked through the fire, and over came:

                The Depression, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, shooting of Presidents and public figures, 9/11, Iraq, Afghanistan, school shootings; and the list grows daily.

                           We will do it, again.

                 It is time to join together;
                      Protect each other;
                             Use common sense and balanced thinking;
                                  Support our Police and Firemen/women;
                                        and not allow fear to paralyze us.

 Today,
                 Pray
                      Take time to enjoy each other and the moment
                            Make plans in case tragedy and violence comes closer
                                   Have a back-up plan
                                        Observe and know your surroundings
                                              Remain positive -- life is good and "this too shall pass."
