The following is the latest:

1.  I-35 construction:

Greetings Everyone!

"During this past week the contractor was able to open all travel lanes on the southbound frontage road from Thomas Arnold to the southern limits of the project.  Additionally, traffic on the northbound frontage road at the intersection of FM 2484 was shifted to the permanent pavement  This shift improves the access to the adjacent hotels and the operation of the intersection.  The contractor is working toward having all travel lanes on the northbound frontage road from FM 2268 to Thomas Arnold Rd. open soon.

Work continues to progress on the northbound mainlanes from the Salado Creek to FM 2484.  Crews continue to excavate the area and work on the permanent retaining walls has begun (see attached picture)."

It will not be long.  Completion of I-35 will be completed by mid-fall (September/October.

Thank you for being patient and making the driving pattern adjustments.  As the project continues, there will be other adjustments that may cause frustration.  Just keep the big picture in mind -- September/October completion.  New driving patterns have to be done to make it to the end.

(2)  Two awards: 

Susan attended the state Keep Texas Beautiful conference last week and KSB received 2 recognitions: a Gold Star Certification and an Award of Excellence.

Way to go, Susan!  Way to go Salado! 

(3)  A Business Report.

One of our businesses just compared their sales for the same period last year.  Their sales are over 25% more than last year.  Here is what they are doing to increase the revenue:

1.  Open 7 Days - a - week.

2.  At market, looks for the quality merchandise.  Tries not to copy anyone in town.

3.  Customer Service is top-notch.

5.  Has live piano music in the store.  

6.  Flexible.  Will not accept status-quo.

7.  Communication, Communication, Communication with the public.

(4)  Saturday, 9 July, 8 A.M., all the Village committees will come together and share information from their respective committees.  The purpose is for everyone to learn what other committees are doing and how to work together to accomplish our overall mission. The Public is invited to listen, but no input may be given.

5.  A Win-Win for all.  

You get to purchase beautiful glass, support the Volunteer Fire Department, and shop a premier store.

Salado Glassworks would like to invite any Salado Business to be a part of our Shop For a Cause event benefitting Salado Volunteer Fire Department, July 23, 2016 from 10am-4pm. We are asking any participating business to donate 10% of their sales from that day to benefit the SVFD. SVFD will be on Glassworks property with fire truck fun for all ages the day of the event. If you would like to be involved, we will include you in our promotion of the event and send people to your business the day of the event. You are welcome to send a representative from your business to set up a small table/booth on Glassworks property the day of the event to promote your business should you choose to do so. Please email
