The latest news:
(1) State of Salado. Thank you for attending. The Civic Center was full and very attentive. It was a good experience for all of us. Please, if you have questions email me, the Aldermen/Lady, or the Village Office. Emails are preferred.
(2) Salado Plaza Road. Tonight is a big night for opening the road. Here is what you need to know:
a. Early evening, they will shut both roads on either side of Brookshires as well as Main Street to one lane. There will be flaggers controlling the flow of traffic. About 20 yards of Main Street on the West side has to be cut down so that the surface is flush with the newly constructed under-the-bridge road. THIS MIGHT BE A GREAT NIGHT TO STAY AT HOME.
b. In the morning, when traffic is allowed to go under the Bridge, please pay attention to STOP SIGNS. The frontage road will have no stop signs. The stop signs will be on Salado Plaza -- east and west. Be sure to look for traffic before proceeding under the Bridge. THERE WILL BE NO FLASHING LIGHTS AND STOP LIGHTS.
c. The frontage road going North will permanently be ONE WAY to Temple. Tomorrow, there will be no 2-Way Traffic on that road.
The Frontage Road going South will permanently be ONE WAY to Austin. Remember to take that South Frontage Road if you are coming East on 2484 toward Salado. If you cross 2484 Bridge going East (toward Holiday Inn), you cannot turn right and go toward Salado. You will have to go to Amity and circle back.
d. Please get use to it. This is permanent. AND STOP AT THE STOP SIGNS!
(3) The schedule is holding -- Construction of I-35 will be completed in late September or early October. The key was getting North and South bound traffic over Salado Bridge as well as connecting East and West Salado Plaza Road. Both have happened on schedule inspite of weather.
(4) Dog Daze is this Saturday, 18 June. Get that Hound dog clean, clipped, and ready with a perfect costume. You might win, however, competition is always strong.
Saturday is the day. Lots of Vendors and dog stuff to purchase, fun, and excitement. Do not miss this event!
(5) Sanctuary will be at Wildfire Roping Arena next week. They are bringing their sound technicians to begin designing the sound system for the Music Venue. Plans are to open it December, 2017, and to have the grand opening March, 2018.
(6) Congratulations PALS! Great, great performance in Pace Park last Friday evening. The "Happy" music got the children dancing and a few adults. Lots and lots of fun.
(7) Please shop Salado as often as possible! You will find that perfect Father's Day gift in Salado.
