Friends,

This has been a spectacular 4th of July for the Village.  Tonight, the Historical Society hosted an outstanding Community Picnic.  One picture is worth a 1000 words, so here they are:

We ate Fried Chicken and all the trimmings

We wore our red, white, and blue and mom was there, too

We listened, sang, and was inspired

and danced with Nate, the great grandson of Tim and Marilyn Fleischer

We listened to voices of the past

and relived the first days of our independence

We smiled when we saw "like father, like son."

We were thankful that she took great care of us as she always does

We were glad when our clergy stood in our  midst

We cheered when all of us signed the Declaration of Independence

And kept on signing

Those who could write signed

And those who needed a little extra help did, too

It was an historical evening filled with fun, history,  friends, laughter, and the spirit of the 4th of July.

Thank you Historical Society of Salado. You are special!
