Your Village in 3 minutes, 6 July 15

Friends,

1.  Clark Lyda, potential buyer of Stagecoach, will speak tomorrow evening, 7 July, 5:30, to the Chamber Membership, Civic Center.   Subject: Stagecoach.

2.  I-35 Construction workers

Work crew on 2484 bridge, working underneath the bridge.

Work crew on access road in front of barber shop area, look like tearing up some road way.

Work crew at access road south of Thomas Arnold doing work at the bridge crossing area.

Work crew on south 35, leveling roadway for new road to come in.  This is on the west side of 35 where they are putting in the new roadway.

Reports are being sent weekly to TXDoT Austin and Waco.  In addition, the Executive Director, TXDoT is touring Salado on a regular basis.

Please prepare for the final and most difficult phase of I-35 Construction, tearing-out and rebuilding the Salado Plaza Bridge.  Travel will be difficult on the North end of Salado.  It will take approximately 4-months.  The Village must ensure that "mission creep" does not take over this project.

The next 45-day letter will be going to the mailing list used in the first mailing.  Once again, you will be asked to sign it.  It will be mailed the second week in August.  Subject:  James Construction's progress on I-35 Construction.

3.  Spectacular 4th of July weekend, Salado!  The events were excellent.  As one citizen said, "there is so much going on in Salado and I like it."
Thank you to everyone who planned, implemented, and participated in the events.

4.  A golf tournament is being planned to help pay for the cleaning of Salado Creek as it flows through the low water bridge next to the Old Mill Creek Club House.  More on the planning of the tournament forth coming.  The approximate cost of cleaning the area is $15,000-$18,000.  The equipment and how the creek must be environmentally cleaned is very expensive. No shortcuts can be taken.

5.  Mill Creek Golf Course is beautiful.  Thank you, Billy Helm and partners, for making it a priority. There are outstanding plans being made for future events.  This blog will carry a list of events.

6.  The first "Evening with the Mayor" will be for citizens of Salado this Monday evening, 13 July, 6:30 Municipal Building.  It is question and answer discussion.  It will give the Mayor the opportunity to listen to your comments, suggestions, and recommendations.

7.  Please remember the reception for Debbie Charbonneau 14 July at Inn on the Creek, 5:30-7:30 P.M.  It will be Salado's opportunity to say thank you to one who has given so much to our Village.  Please make a special effort to attend.
